vintage 1940 toy (see details below) w/ accompanying box without original Superman branding (also graded 6.0)
Known as the "The Henry Ford of the toy industry," Louis Marx built an empire that even thrived during the Great Depression. The company would frequently launch a toy with a licensed character, and later reintroduce the same toy without a branded name.
Superman still has what it takes to roll over this plane once he gets wound up—although the plane's wings are mostly for display only, with one of the metal tabs holding the wings missing from the undercarriage. This vintage toy from 1940 still has its propeller intact, which is rare for the model. The accompanying box has the same artwork as the original packaging for the "Superman Rollover Plane;" the only difference is that the print on the side simple reads "Rollover Plane," reflecting the Marx Co.'s habit of revamping toys once the initial licensing had expired.
