John Severin pencils/Bill Elder inks; '...For Us the Living' recreated page 1; 1981; image size 13" x 17.5"

Beautiful EC title page, recreated by the legendary team of Severin and Elder, from the time travel tale '...For Us the Living.' When Russ Cochran began his project to reprint all of the EC stories in the early 1980s for the EC Library Project he was given access to all of the original art from the EC archives by Bill Gaines, unfortunately not all of the pages were accounted for. To ensure the best possible reproduction Cochran had the original artists recreate the missing pages, this is one of those pages, it is this artwork that has been used for all subsequent reprints of the story. Severin and Elder, who creating some of EC's most memorable stories, faithfully reproduced the page with only minor indicators that it had been redone. Each panel was created individually and pasted to a larger board with photostats of the original title and lettering. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition.
