A 15% BUYER'S PREMIUM WILL BE ADDED TO THIS ITEM AT CONCLUSION OF THE AUCTION
Will Eisner pencils and inks; unpublished Wonder Man page; 1939; image size 13" x 18"
Historic. Pulled from issue #2 due to DC lawsuit
Jon Berk CollectionThis is an incredibly rare opportunity to bid on a true piece of comics history! Wonder made made his debut in Wonder Comics #1 (cover dated May 1939), in March of that year National/DC Comics brought a lawsuit against Fox Publications to halt any future publication as they found the character to close in resemblance to Superman. DC was successful and Wonder Man was never heard from again. This page, drawn by Eisner and intended for the second issue, was subsequently never published and remains a holdover of comics; infancy from one of it's greatest creators. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition.
Includes a letter from Eisner to Jon Berk referencing the page, as well as a photocopy of the artwork signed by Eisner.
