Luke Cage, Hero for Hire #2-16 — This run of classic Bronze Age comics features Luke Cage as the first Black hero to headline his own book, taking on one of Marvel's best stretches of new '70s villains (plus a wild encounter with Dr. Doom, who owes him money). Issue #16 resolves Cage's past as an escaped prisoner, setting up the new series that began as Luke Cage, Power Man.
