Stan Lee and Jack Kirby kept their Marvel Age hot streak running with the big and brutal Hulk, with Incredible Hulk #1 becoming another vital Silver Age key that's remained a top collectible. In addition to introducing readers to Dr. Bruce Banner and his brutal alter-ego, Incredible Hulk #1 marks the first appearances of Betty Ross, Rick Jones, and General "Thunderbolt" Ross (the latter set to remain a major part of the Disney+ Marvel Universe). Stan Lee demanded a change after the botched coloring process for this book. The second issue would change the Hulk from a blotchy gray to his green-skinned glory. Hulk would then survive his own title’s quick cancellation to keep thrilling comics fans, eventually coming back with a top-selling book and a hit '70s television show. From there, the Hulk’s return to the big-screen Avengers reignited the public’s passion for both the troubled hero and his alter-ego of Dr. Bruce Banner.
