Win Mortimer pencils/Mike Esposito w/John Romita Sr. inks; page 19; 1974; image size 10" x 15"Final page form the story 'Spidey Vs. Mister Measles' which featured the first, and only, appearance of Mister Measles, whose nefarious plot to infect the world with measles to keep them all bedridden is thwarted by our own friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, though not before he is infected himself in a tragic twist of fate. This page was inked by Esposito with corrections and alterations by John Romita Sr. Pen and ink. Art is in very good condition, there is minor discoloration and a piece of tape in panel one. Signed by Romita.
Artists Information
John Romita was one of the driving forces behind Marvel's Silver Age, first taking up the reins on Amazing Spider-Man following the departure of Steve Ditko with issue #38. Romita's long run on Spider-Man would include the introduction of classic characters such as Mary Jane Watson, the Kingpin and many others. He would be a major contributor to the entire Marvel line throughout the 1970s — including designing the look of The Punisher. Romita's influence has since been felt for decades, including the emergence of John Romita, Jr. as one of the industry's top illustrators.
Win Mortimer is a Canadian comic strip/ book artist who worked for the big publishing houses during both the golden and silver age era of comics. Win mostly worked with DC but later freelanced for Marvel comics, where his most notable works include Action comics and Spidey Super Stories.
