This issue of More Fun Comics #31 would already be a collector's item just for being one of less than 20 copies known to exist. This vintage book from National Comics has also found new fame for sporting the first published ad for Action Comics #1, marking the first appearance of Superman in any printed medium. (Other National books advertised the first issue of Action, but copyright records have More Fun as the earliest with a registry date of April 5, 1938.) This vibrantly colorful 9.6 copy easily sits at the top of the CGC Census as part of the prestigious Ed Church Mile High collection — with "4-1" written in pencil on the cover to confirm an April 1st arrival date on America's newsstands. As a further part of the legacy, this issue includes a Dr. Occult story from Superman creator Jerry Siegel.
This vibrantly colorful 9.6 copy easily sits at the top of the CGC Census as part of the prestigious Edgar Church/Mile High collection.
