Highest GradedA lot of the comic artists of the Golden Age would moonlight for rival publishing houses to earn a little extra money during the years after the Depression, which explains why many of the draftsmen involved in the creation of Smash Comics #10 employed pen names for their contributions to this fine comic. Will Eisner is credited as Will Erwin, George Brenner is Wayne Reid, George Tuska is Bud Thomas, and the list goes on. Additionally, Gill Fox, Paul Gustavson, and Vern Henkel help round out the bounty of GA artists who helped create this issue. The cover of this book almost seems to foreshadow the Underground Comix movement of the 1960s with its cartoonish Bozo the Robot design. Overall, this is a fun and interesting anthology mashup book which is very rare and appealing to the rabid collectors of comics from the pre-war era.
