The publishing house rose to prominence in the Golden Age thanks to its flagship titles: Blue Beetle, Fantastic Comics, and Mystery Men Comics. Looking to cash in on the exploding comic book market Victor S. Fox and Bob Farrell launched their imprint and went on to hire some of the best artists in the newly minted industry. Wonderworld Comics was the home of one of their more successful heroes of the period, The Flame, who can be seen on issue #27’s cover soaring high above an American military vessel, exhibiting an early example of the wartime comic that was about to come into vogue.
It boggles the mind that a comic book that was printed over 80 years ago could arrive in 2024 in such impeccable shape. The colors are fiery hot, and there are no imperfections of note on the cover of this Jon Berk Collection jewel.
