Despite years of pulps and detective magazines, nobody had hit upon the idea to bring lurid tales of real-life murder and mayhem into the pages of the four-color funny books. Collectors prize issue #33 for its particularly horrific Charles Biro cover, which looks like an early inspiration for EC’s legendary horror output. The interior pages include work by Golden Age legends Rudy Palais and Dick Briefer.
