Ruben Blades CopyAs devoted Golden Age anthology fans will tell you, there is just something special about the early days of the comic book industry, where a kitchen sink mentality ruled the roost, and any wacky idea could, and often did, find its way into the pages of these massive tomes. Much of the charm of the GA is in the crude art and bizarre antics that the protagonists of the varied tales would undertake; this issue of Daring Mystery Comics features a wealth of stories that span from sci-fi to superhero action, espionage, and humor, all under one cover. And speaking of covers, this one is quite impressive, featuring yet another amazing Alex Schomburg illustration that shows The Falcon battling some sort of ghoulish creature while he fires at another enemy and a lady in peril tries to avoid a flaming torture device in the background. It's covers like this that get Golden Age collectors’ mouths watering.
