Looking to cash in on the exploding comic book market, Victor S. Fox and Bob Farrell launched their imprint and went on to hire some of the best artists in the newly minted industry. Wonderworld Comics would become best known as the home of The Flame, a pioneering superhero who can be seen on issue #27’s cover soaring high above an American military vessel, providing an early example of the wartime comic that was about to come into vogue. Wonderworld Comics #27 is a typically outstanding anthology from the scrappy Fox Features Syndicate, with contributions from Will Eisner, Larry Antonette, Chuck Winter, and Munson Paddock. _________________________________________________
