Sensation Comics #38 has more than just a classic Christmas cover! "Racketeers Kidnap Miss Santa Claus" is also a classic Christmas story, with Diana Prince and Steve Trevor meeting a disillusioned lad who lives in a pretty bad neighborhood. In fact, it's bad enough that Diana decides it's better to drop off some presents for the kid as Wonder Woman. (She's actually the "Miss Santa Claus" of the title, as Diana runs afoul of the kid's gangster uncle.) This issue is also the end of the Gay Ghost's stint in Sensation, going out with "Vandals Desecrate Churches!"
This 9.4 Sensation Comics #38 looks amazing after nearly 80 years, carefully preserving the vibrant colors and full impact of a classic Christmas cover. The book is also typical of the Golden Age gems in the Ruben Blades Collection, with only 44 copies in the CGC Census — and only one copy graded higher, all as part of a sensational run of Sensation Comics classics!
