Ruben Blades Copy
Double Comics were a pretty good deal when a copy would occasionally appear on the newsstands between 1940 and 1944. Each issue's covers would be wrapped around two random comics left remaindered from recent editions. (This issue is one of the book's earliest runs.) Kids buying the books because of the cover, however, were often disappointed. Double Comics had a tradition of wild covers that featured heroes who never appeared in any actual comics!
Any other buyers still made a smart investment. Double Comics ended up preserving some of the rarest books of the Golden Age, thanks to the comics having a particularly sturdy spine. This issue's titles are specified below...__________________________
This 6.0 copy of a rare Double Comics edition has two equally rare books making up the interior contents. There are only 13 copies of Mystery Men Comics #26 in the CGC Census, and only four copies graded above 6.0; there are only 73 copies of Action Comics #39 in the CGC Census, and only 21 copies graded above 6.0.
