Marvel Mystery Comics Annual is a title that's become almost mythic amongst Golden Age collectors. The two editions of these impossibly rare 128-page collections seem to have been only distributed in New York City and Canada. The titles repackaged the contents of different books, as detailed below. (Alex Schomburg's cover is from Marvel Mystery Comics #33.) No matter the books, though, these Annuals seem to have become more rare and sought-after than the original titles!__________________________
Marvel Mystery Comics Annual is certainly one of the rarest books featured in the Ruben Blades Collection; there are only 15 copies listed on the CGC Census, making this possibly the hardest Timely comic to find overall. This particular copy features black-and-white reprints of Captain America Comics #22 and Marvel Mystery Comics #41 within its pages. The cover by Alex Schomburg is another classic by the top draftsman of the wartime era, and maintains an enduring impact at any grade.
