Ruben Blades CopyDC decided to attempt to repeat the sales success of New Book of Comics #1 the previous year, making this one of the first annual publications in comics history. Again the massive issue had 100 pages, and again it was a crazy mix-em-up of funny pages and the formula worked, but comics were starting to turn towards a new trend after the introduction of Action Comics #1 got the superhero ball rolling, making this the second and last entry into the New Book of Comics’ short but significant run.
