Amazing Fantasy #15 ushered in the first appearance of Spider-Man, quickly becoming the Silver Age equivalent of Action #1 as both a cultural artifact and important investment for collectors. There was also a different kind of tragic backstory fueled by Peter Parker’s guilt over the death of his Uncle Ben.
