Whiz Comics #3 is the second appearance of Captain Marvel, and really just the second issue of Whiz. There's also a quick comeback for the evil Dr. Sivana, making his own second appearance in "Sivana Strikes Again!" This timeless classic kept Captain Marvel thriving as Superman's biggest competition on the comic racks — much to the consternation of DC's lawyers. (This is also where Whiz made an adjustment to the numbering of the title's run; this Issue #3 from March 1940 was followed by a second Issue #3 with a cover date of April 1940. Today, they're commonly known as 3A and 3B.)

This 5.5 Whiz Comics #3 sports vivid colors and enduringly dark shadings — all carefully preserving the impact of C.C. Beck's intricate work that had Whiz Comics art popping off of the newsstands back in 1940! The kids loved these comics to death, too, with only 50 copies of this rare book listed on the CGC Census!
