John Buscema pencils/Joe Rubinstein inks; Mephisto, page 14; 1983; image size 4.5" x 9.5"Marvel Handbook illustration featuring classic villain Mephisto. This drawing was also used in the 1985 Deluxe Edition of the Marvel Handbook. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition.
Artists Information
'The Michelangelo of comics.' Buscema was one of the mainstays of Marvel Comics during its 1960s and 1970s heyday, best known for his run on the The Avengers and The Silver Surfer, and for over 200 stories featuring the sword-and-sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian. In addition, he penciled at least one issue of nearly every major Marvel title, including long runs on two of the company's top books, Fantastic Four and Thor.
Josef "Joe" Rubinstein is a comic book artist and inker, most associated with inking Marvel Comics' The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe and the 1982 four-issue Wolverine miniseries by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller. He is also known to be the one to have given artist Art Adams his first professional work.
