Off-White to White pgs; Universal holder; Unrestored
classic Joker cover; 1st app. Mad Hatter, Vicki Vale; Comic Book Impact rating of 7 (CBI)Bearing one of the more exotic of the early Batman covers, issue #49 offers a great deal of action and, most notably, the first appearance of Jervis Tech aka The Mad Hatter in "The Scoop of the Century," which also prominently features the debut of Bruce Wayne's love interest Vicki Vale. Also included are "The Prison Doctor," and "Batman's Arabian Nights" which involves the Joker and a fantastic trip to Baghdad, Iraq. The cover illustration is quite surreal and atypical compared to others from the period, portraying the Joker as a genie in a lamp, looming menacingly above the Caped Crusaders as they cower in fear.
