Crumb comics; only 5,000 printedThe third issue of Brian Zahn's underground newspaper was given over to regular contributor Robert Crumb, who used it to expand on his burgeoning Comix career, telling additional stories with his Mr. Natural character, and other strips. Inspired by the success of this issue, Crumb and Zahn planned to publish a comic book of Crumb's work entitled Zap Comix. This plan was disrupted when Zahn left the country with Crumb's original art (that material was later published as Zap Comix #0).
