Amazing Spider-Man #300 proves that a long-running title can keep generating top collectible keys with the first appearance of Venom (after the previous issue's cameo). The character has enjoyed a huge amount of success outside of Amazing Spider-Man, appearing in numerous solo books and virtually every TV show or video game related to Spider-Man. Venom also easily became the most popular movie character in Sony's attempt to make movies set in a Spider-Man Universe without Spider-Man. After becoming the sole Sony villain to get his own trilogy of films, Venom has now been established as part of the Marvel Studios series of Spider-Man films. That has fans eagerly anticipating a rebooting of Venom, as the alien's earliest appearances remain hot collectibles.

Todd's other notable works include Marvel's The Amazing Spider-Man and Batman: Year Two.
