Spider-Man's first appearance in Amazing Fantasy #15 was an overnight sensation, leading to a hurriedly prepared solo title from co-creators Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. (Marvel still brought in the top-selling Fantastic Four on the cover as insurance.) The book remains one of the cornerstones of comic collecting--featuring the first appearance of J. Jonah Jameson as one of the most iconic supporting characters in the history of comics. The book is also notable for including The Chameleon as Spidey’s first supervillain. The shape-shifting spy has been one of the major missing figures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and is finally set to make his big-screen debut in this year’s Kraven the Hunter film.

This copy boasts a vibrant and classic cover image, the Human Torch blazes a path across the page to highlight the arrival of Marvel’s newest hero and sets him on his path of comic book destiny. Emblazoned with strikingly bright reds and deep blues, the colors are truly vibrant. The memorable Ditko cover design really pops on this 7.0 example. Both Spidey and the FF will see a spike in interest due to future movie releases, so snap this baby up while you still can.
