Don Perlin pencils and inks; 14.25" x 21.5"During his tenure as head honcho at Charlton Comics, industry legend Dick Giordano recruited many of the best and most reliable artists to craft the late Silver/early Bronze period at the publisher into an unusually fertile and rewarding period for collectors and art enthusiasts. Many artists whom were usually chained to one genre or character were allowed to try their hand with fresh styles and topics at Charlton, such as this great piece from Don Perlin, usually commissioned at Marvel with horror and hero titles, but here getting the opportunity to stretch his wings and create a valiant and memorable war image. War covers in general are tough to track down, making this cover a doubly special treat for collectors. Charlton original art is one of the more satisfying niches in the original comic art market, with dedicated fans snapping up pages as soon as they become available, with war covers among the rarest and most cherished -- have at it!
