This moment is one that, under normal circumstances, is filled with joy and celebration, but this birth is one that is surrounded by questions and no small amount of fear. Is the baby Shane's? Is it Rick's? Is the baby healthy or are babies damned to be born as walkers? Did Lori survive? What does it mean to raise an infant under the circumstances of the Walking Dead. All of these questions, and the sense of dread that comes along with them are somehow articulated in this deceptively simple drawing by Charlie Adlard. When it comes to Walking Dead pages you will have a hard time finding one with more gravitas than this one.
