Eduardo Barreto pencils, inks, and signed; image size 10" x 15"This cover art for Action Comics #559 depicts Superman doing battle with minor recurring character Loretta York, aka Yellow Peri, a sorceress with occult powers that reappeared sporadically to irritate the Man of Steel. Uruguayan artist Eduardo Barreto's work on this piece is quite impressive, his use of foreground imagery and his playful reorientation of the title's logo add to the captivating graphics that grace this issue's cover.

Luis Eduardo Barreto Ferreyra was an Uruguayan artist who worked in the comic book and comic strip industries including several years of prominent work for DC Comics. Barreto notably had a long run on The New Teen Titans in the 1980's, he also had memorable runs on Atari Force, The Shadow Strikes, and drew the graphic novel Lex Luthor: The Unauthorized Biography.
