DESCRIPTION
Joe Kubert pencils & inks; 1982; image size 9.5" x 15"What a great DC Bronze Age Sci-Fi cover by the legendary Joe Kubert. The sense of terror Kubert is able to convey through his detailed line work and cross hatching is second to none. Title and other text elements are on an acetate overlay.
It should be noted for full disclosure, that the alien that appears in the background on this piece of art didn't make it onto the actual comic book. If you look closely though, you can still see part of the alien's thigh that was left in on the comic itself. Take a look at the second image on this listing. You will also notice that Kubert used white-out on his signature on the bottom left and placed it on the top left. On the comic, the signature can be seen on the bottom left still.

Joe Kubert (Sept. 18, 1926 - Aug. 12, 2012) began his career at the age of 13. He was also an art teacher and founder of The Kubert School. He is best known for his work on the characters like Sgt. Rock, Hawkman, Tor, Son of Sinbad and the Viking Prince.
