Comic art from the Golden Age is difficult to come by, and fans of pre-code horror books love to acquire these campy, spooky rarities. It is satisfying that the workaday artists from the Golden Age are being rediscovered and given their due respect through the comic art collecting hobby.
Jim McLaughlin was an American comic book artists, mainly active in the 1950s. He produced most of his art for Ace Periodicals, and was on the company's staff in the early 1950s. He illustrated many horror, romance and western stories. He was present in Dell's Gunsmoke, Marvel's Strange Tales and in St. John's Strange Terrors.
