Highest GradedThe Blonde Phantom was created by Timely Comics as a response to the success of DC's Wonder Woman, the staff at Timely figured they'd give a female superhero a shot to boost sales as the cape book craze was dying down at the end of the 40s. Conceived as a masked, gun toting martial arts practitioner, the Blonde Phantom aka Louise Grant battled crime in an effort to aid her employer, a private dick named Mark Mason. The character appeared in a variety of comics beside her own title, including Marvel Mystery Comics, All Winners Comics, Sub-Mariner Comics and several others. In issue #20, Blonde Phantom stars in three of the anthology tales within and the Syd Shores cover art is a triumph of graphic design, creating depth and brimming with action that draws the eye to the center of the scene only to reveal the mayhem happening at the corners of the page. This stunning copy is the highest graded on the census (1 of 1), the reds in the Phantom's dress and logo are blazing hot, and save for a small abrasion near the spine, is in impeccable condition, preserved for decades and awaiting a lucky collector to bring this GA beauty home.
