scarce! 1st app. Daredevil; classic Claw cover
This Jack Cole cover stands out as a “Yellow Peril” artifact, featuring “The Claw” as a popular “go-to” villain for Lev Gleeson’s publishing house during the Golden Age. The character would go on to team up with Hitler and become a foil for the original Daredevil. In fact, that Golden Age Daredevil makes his own first appearance in this issue, and the dashing hero go on to become an icon of wild Golden Age WWII battle imagery. (Decades later, of course, Daredevil would inspire his Marvel Comics counterpart.) This comic is exceptionally rare, with less than 50 copies on the census.
