DESCRIPTION
2nd Superman vs Flash Race; Professor Zoom app. & JLA app; Comic Book Impact rating of 7 (CBI)
The second time Superman and the Flash race each other in the pages of a comic is a very high-stakes event indeed, as the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance! A pair of aliens take the Justice League hostage and force the duo of heroes to compete in a speed contest across the universe while laying a variety of traps in their path to make matters worse. After battling among the stars Superman and Flash decide to team up and rescue their compatriots, and, with a little help from Martian Manhunter, it is revealed they had been suckered in by Reverse Flash and Abra Kadabra all along. This is a popular and iconic issue with a classic cover by Infantino and Esposito, inked by Plastino.

Artists Information

High School of Art & Design alum Carmine Infantino got his start in the industry working Timely, a precursor to Marvel Comics, where he would do spot work on anthology features, in his first work at DC he helped create Black Canary and began his long-running involvement with the Flash during his Golden Age era, as well as illustrating the original Green Lantern. After the post-war comic book slump Infantino collaborated with writer Robert Kanigher and editor Julius Schwartz to help bring back superheroes and launch the Silver Age by updating the Flash in the pages of Showcase, the reboot was a huge success and led to the superhero rebirth that has continued into the modern day, Infantino's ability to capture speed and movement on a page made his Flash believable and engaging. Carmine was promoted to Art Director and then Publisher at DC over the course of his illustrious career,

Ross Andru was an American comics artist and editor. He is best known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and The Metal Men, and for having co-created The Punisher. During Andru's long career he also worked on Sgt. Rock, the Suicide Squad features in the Brave and the Bold, Rip Hunter, Time Master and Sea Devils at DC. At Marvel Andru contributed to Marvel Feature (where he drew the 1st appearance of The Defenders) and Marvel Team-Up among others.
