Special Edition Comics #1 is the first comic solely devoted to Captain Marvel, predating Captain Marvel Adventures #1, and is one of the most historic and influential Golden Age issues. Captain Marvel would prove to be Fawcett’s bread and butter, with multiple books devoted to The Big Red Cheese and the extended Marvel Family. The character would eventually become a DC property decades later being referred to by his famous catchphrase “Shazam!,” and would go on to join DC’s greatest heroes in the Justice League. After appearing in his own hit DCEU film and sequel, the classic hero could potentially star in many more DC films.
