Artists Information

After leaving the Navy as a photographer Jim Starlin began his career in comic books where he enjoyed success as both a writer and artist. Starlin credits legendary artists Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko as major influences to his illustration style which is apparent in his early works. For over 40 years he's been known for his space opera-esque stories where he created popular characters such as Thanos, Drax, and Gamora. His most notable works include Iron Man, Adam Warlock, and the Infinity Gauntlet.

Canadian comics artist and writer best known for his work on the NOW Comics comic book series of Astro Boy and of the Comico comic series of Jonny Quest, The Real Ghostbusters, as well as his graphic novel collaborations with Harlan Ellison (Night and the Enemy, 1987) and Dean Motter (The Sacred and the Profane, 1987). Ken was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets 386 Comox Squadron.

Stephen R. Bissette is an American comic book artist best known for his work with Alan Moore on their groundbreaking run on DC's Swamp Thing. A graduate of the first class at the Joe Kubert School of cartooning Bissette worked on a number of horror comics before landing Swamp Thing. In the years that followed he was an early champion for creators' rights and launched his own Spiderbaby Graphix which published the horror comics anthology Taboo and his own series Tyrant, a comic book biography of a Tyrannosaurus Rex which lasted only four issues. Bissette retired from comics to focus on teaching in 1999.
