"The Blood Curse"
Phantom Lady Collection

Superior Publishers Limited was a Canadian imprint that would repurpose American comic books for the Canadian marketplace, padding their output with some original content. The story "The Blood Curse" deviates somewhat from the standard Horror fare of its time, as it has a happy ending that sees two pairs of lovers, one mortal and one ghostly, content and united at the end of this macabre tale. The name of the artist who created this romantic and chilling tale remains lost to the ages, but it is evident on these panels that the anonymous illustrator had admirable talents and knew his medium well, certainly an interesting piece for collectors of Horror art from the post-war period.
