Alias the Clock by George Brenner
Highest GradedThis Lake Charles American Press insert features the Clock, who is considered by many to be the bridge that connects the pulp magazines of the 20s and 30s to the newborn comic book industry. The first comic character to hide his identity with a mask, the Clock was a master of disguise and a hypnotist, who had the additional benefit of massive personal wealth that allowed him to build gadgetry and a hidden lair, obviously becoming an influence on Batman and many other superheroes inspired by the mysterious crime-fighter. The historical importance of this character cannot be overlooked. This complete story comes directly from his very first appearance in Funny Picture Stories v1 #1.
We've never seen this book before, we've never heard of it, nobody has ever mentioned it, and it doesn't appear anywhere in the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide. This supplement represents a whole different level of impossible that we almost never see. This discovery is tailor-made for collectors who chase after only the hardest to find comics in the hobby.
