DC Premiere CollectionThe colorful, detailed cover, rendered with great skill by Golden Age pioneer Leo O'Mealia, is atypical of most comics from the era, which were generally crude and amateurish, making this book one of the most sought after from the dawn of comics. Even better, this issue features the very first appearance of Jimmy Olsen, although not named in the issue, Jimmy makes his debut in the Superman feature as a lowly office clerk and not the photojournalist he is known as today.
This classic non-Superman cover of Action Comics #6 is a favorite of Golden Age collectors thanks to its memorable cover design, the image of a massive ape looming over an unsuspecting photographer displays verdant greens, bright yellows, and deep blues. The overall condition of this copy is impressive given its vintage, mild wear around the edges does little to detract from the overall package of this 6.0 beauty.
