DC Premiere CollectionAnybody who is a fan of the fantastic Fawcett family of characters must have a copy of this book in their collection. The "Capt. Marvel Stops the Turbine of Death" cover is a must have in and of itself. Couple that with the very first appearance of Capt. Marvel Jr. and you have no reason but to add this to your collection this very second.
C.C. Beck really deserves his position as one of the greats of the Golden Age, names like H.G. Peter, Alex Schomburg, Lou Fine, and L.B. Cole share this lofty designation of those who rose above the crowded field and distinguished themselves with a heady mixture of hard work and skill. One look at this cover and you can recognize the hand of a master draftsman at work. This particular copy presents incredibly vibrant hues that read extremely well, in particular the intricate shading around Captain Marvel’s right side as he leans against the Turbine of Death. The comic is in very good condition overall, a few shadows appear around the edges of the book, but they hardly take anything away from the quality of this choice copy we have up for auction.
