classic Schomburg Holocaust cover (4/45)
One of the toughest Caps to find, featuring one of the most graphic covers ever published, the jarring image on the front of this book depicts Nazis burning Jews alive in ovens. Many of the early comic creators were European Jews, and they knew what was happening to their families and friends overseas. They used the popular medium of comic books to spread the word about the Holocaust and make people aware of the atrocities that were taking place under Hitler’s regime during World War II.

The horrific content of this controversial cover displays the glowing colors it had back when it was printed right at the tail the end of WWII. Although there is some wear along the right side of the cover, it does little to detract from the overall appeal of the book. This is a very popular entry in the Captain America Comics run, thanks to its graphic portrayal of Nazi atrocities, and never fails to garner focused attention when copies are on the bidding block. At any grade, this is a valuable and important comic which dealt with war and death in a very direct manner.
