Carl Ed pencils and inks; 9/30/1945 Sunday strip; image size 28" x 12.5"Nice Sunday page from the long running comic strip that spun off into both radio and films. Created by pasting individual panels on to a larger board, some drawing extends off the pasted on panels. three of the panels are missing. Pen and ink. Art is in good condition. Signed by Ed.
Artist Information
Carl Ed's Harold Teen debuted in February 1919, the strip was widely read in the 1920s. With the popularity of the strip, Ed profited from merchandising of games, figurines and other products. He added Josie as a topper strip beneath Harold Teen and also found time to work as an instructor at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.
