DESCRIPTION
1973; limited to 100 pieces; 58/100; signed and numbered by Jones; 7" x 5" x 8"This is a beautiful statue, cast in Vatican Stone from an original sculpture by Jones who modeled for the piece himself. Cast only the one time in an edition of 100, several of which were damaged in shipping at the time. Signed and numbered in ballpoint pen, the signature has faded significantly over time, but is still visible. Statue is in excellent condition, there is some light discoloration from age but no visible damage.

Jeffrey Catherine Jones was an American artist whose work is best known from the late 1960s through the 2000s. Jones created the cover art for over 150 books through 1976, as well as venturing into fine art during and after this time. Fantasy artist Frank Frazetta called Jones "the greatest living painter." Although Jones first achieved fame as simply Jeff Jones and lived for a time as male, she later changed her name and was legally recognized as female.
