These popular wartime superheroes acted as a magnet to war-weary readers hungry for excitement. This cover image eventually became an iconic classic, one of the most famous of WWII comics propaganda pieces and a firm favorite of the army of collectors that keep Schomburg's reputation alive.
This comic is in incredible condition considering its vintage, from the centering to the spine to the colors and the pristine black wash, all of the subtle detail stands out in perfect clarity. Sub-Mariner, Human Torch, and Captain America create the trifecta of Timely’s WWII stable, composed by the brilliant and beloved hand of Alex Schomburg, you can’t really ask for much more out of a Golden Age comic.
