DESCRIPTION
Marc Hempel pencils/Richard Case inks; page 18; 1995; image size 9" x 14"

Classic page from "The Kindly Ones" storyline from Neil Gaiman's Sandman. This page by Hempel and Case features the foreboding first meeting between Morpheus and the child Daniel who, only a few issues later, would replace Dream as Lord of Dreams following his death. Accompanying Dream are Lucien, the Dreaming's librarian and Cain, caretaker of the House of Mystery. Daniel is presented by the Corinthian, who was tasked with locating the child. The page concludes with the ominous arrival of the Furies, who would be responsible for the death of Morpheus. This is a stunning page artistically, with exceptional content and spectacular visuals, with Sandman in every panel and some beautiful dialogue from Gaiman. Pen and ink. The art is in excellent condition. Signed by Case.
