There are myriad WWII covers that show Mussolini, Tojo, and Hitler getting their just desserts, and this is quite possibly one of the most cartoonish and tame of the bunch, in hopes of not turning off DC’s youthful readership, no doubt. Regardless of the intensity level, this is also one of the most iconic wartime covers from the publisher, making this a very popular Batman issue at auction. Most of the early Batmans in the Kentucky Collection exist in fewer than 250 copies on the census, making them all extremely rare books, which are all in grades that are in the upper echelon, and this book is no exception, bearing a few slight indications of the book’s decades of existence, this 8.0 copy is in stunning shape for its age, the bright colors and sturdy structure are evident on this awesome cover.

Overstreet Guide 2020 VF (8.0) value = $3,789.
