With Captain America, Human Torch, and Sub-Mariner under one banner, graced by a classically unrestrained Schomburg cover, this debut issue was an instant success. These popular wartime superheroes acted as a magnet to war-weary readers hungry for excitement. This cover image eventually became an iconic classic, one of the most famous of WWII comics propaganda pieces and a firm favorite of the army of collectors that keep Schomburg's reputation alive.
