the first main expansion of Pokemon TCGNeo Genesis translates into New Beginning from the original Greek, and this set did herald the rebirth of Pokemon TCG as it was the launch of the second-generation sets, released in late 2000. The set features 111 cards, a redesign, and a new play format. The set is also distinguished by having two cards banned from tournament play, Slowking, and Sneazel. The Lugia, Typhlosion, and Pichu cards are among the more valuable in this set. Also of note is the addition of two new types to Pokemon play, Darkness, and Metal, that were inaugurated in this groundbreaking set.
Neo Genesis was the first set of the Neo Series which featured the 2nd-gen Pokemon from the Johto region. The box contains 36 packs with 11 cards each totaling 396 cards. Sealed boxes typically equate to gem mint cards on the inside.This box was purchased by the consignor, a highly respected long standing dealer, directly from the distributor and sat in his collection until now.
