Action Comics #12 marked a full year of Superman shaking up the comics industry—with the demand for more heroes made clear with a classic Art Deco cover featuring the magician Zatara! Superman makes the cover, too, of course, and gets the lead story with the bizarre "Superman Declares War on Reckless Drivers" (in which he destroys bad drivers' impounded cars, plus a shoddy car factory). Zatara's bizarre inter-dimensional traveling is memorable, too, and (like the cover) features beautiful Fred Guardineer artwork. There's also a one-panel ad for Batman's debut in Detective Comics #27 to further make this a great Golden Age investment!
