Superman Sunday strip #4 proof; 1939; very RARE, possibly 1 of a kind; 15" x 11"Printers proof from the fourth ever Superman Sunday comic strip by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, originally published November 26th, 1939!
This particular proof was originally given away as a contest prize from the McClure Syndicate at the time of publication, a thorough searching has come up with no comparable copies from this strip and very few of any other. These were created for in house use at the syndicate and were not available to the public. They were most likely discarded after the strip was published, rendering them obsolete. It's entirely possible that this is the only example of this particular strip, making it a potentially one of a kind item from very close to the birth of Superman, conceivably rarer than even Action Comics #1. Very good condition, there is a vertical crease towards the middle where the poster had at one time been folded, a light stain in the upper right corner and some pin holes along the top, otherwise excellent condition for it's age.
