This issue was always considered rare after an unusually low print run, and is reliable as a great investment. Fans of artist Jack Kirby even consider this issue to be a breakthrough for the legendary comics artist, offering pencils drawn with a surprising grace and elegance. The God of Thunder has remained one of Marvel’s biggest draws, with the character’s next MCU appearance already a source of great speculation.
The Mighty Thor has been a consistent mainstay of Marvel’s stable since his introduction in this very issue. Although the Norse god has gone through several reimaginings throughout the years, he has always remained one of the most popular characters in the company’s rogue’s gallery. Kirby and Lee’s creation was an instant success, which blazed a trail for the publisher’s cosmic adventures in the future. This is a pretty nifty copy for its grade, it presents a strong color palette and the majority of wear is located towards the edges of the book, well away from the iconic central image.
