Amazing Fantasy #15Synopsis: At a science demonstration, high school student Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider. The results are amazing -- Peter gains super-strength, super-agility, the ability to stick to walls and an amazing danger warning "spider sense." Planning to use his powers to earn money as an entertainer and support the people who raised him, his Aunt May and Uncle Ben, he designs web-shooters and a costume and names himself Spider-Man. At his first TV appearance, he lets a thief escape, explaining that catching criminals is not his job. Tragedy strikes when several days later Peter arrives home to find that Uncle Ben had been murdered by a burglar. As Spider-Man, Peter catches the killer, only to discover that he's the very same thief whom he let escape days earlier. Realizing that with great power comes great responsibility, Spider-Man dedicates himself to a life of fighting crime as a super hero.
