The cover depicts a scene from this story, with a giant serpent coiling around Conan as a beautiful girl looks on in wonder and terror. This is only the second ever cover appearance of Conan the Barbarian, an all-time enduring pulp character. Conan would go on to star in countless stories, books, comics, shows, and even movies, and this is one of the earliest ever images of Conan.
